Birdsfoot Violet

The Birdsfoot Violet is a stemless perennial herb; the leaves and stalks arise from an underground stem called a rhizome. The leaves have no hairs and are primarily three-parted, with the divisions being further subdivided into three to five linear segments. A single lilac-purple flower is borne at the end of each tall flower stalk. The flower has five petals, which may all be the same colour, or the upper two may be darker than the lower three. The small seeds, which measure 2.0 to 2.2 mm, are copper coloured.
Bird's-foot violet is usually found along the edges of woods in the mountainous and piedmont areas of Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia. It is rarely viewed as a weed but often admired as a wildflower.

Shipping and planting times are winter and spring months. Please choose from following months: November thru April. But we will make exceptions with limited warranties due to heat during shipping.
And, any tree shipped during normal green and growth months ... which is May through October is going to arrive with brown, burned leaves. They will recover and go green again, but they are going to look dead on arrival.
