Do “Green Wizard Rudbeckia” thrive in the Northeast?
I think these black cone flowers will make a nice contrast against all the other brightly colored flowers I am planting. And work w/the blue flowers to ‘cool’ down the yellow, red –warm colored flowers.
Anyone in the NY area grow these successfullly? TY
)
are they easy to grow? do they prefer sandy soils or what?
Green Wizard Rudbeckia thrives here in Illinois where the conditions are much like New York. Although it takes full sun, It does not like to dry out. Select a location to plant that will provide heavy enough well drained humus enriched soil.
I think the black cones could look very dramatic in your garden.
