French Lilac Shrub
Syringa vulgaris
Double white flowers. Full flowering and true
color reached in 2-3 years. Plants bloom best after cold winters. Full sun (light shade in hottest areas), alkaline soil, average
water. 10-15 ft. bush.
Lilacs are as easy to grow as vegetables. And their needs aren't all that different. Lilacs do best in full sun, and in well-drained, good garden soil with a pH that is neutral to slightly alkaline. They'll tolerate less than the ideal in these categories, but floral rewards are directly related to meeting the plant's needs.
Traditionally, lilacs are considered cold-climate plants. Most are hardy from USDA Hardiness Zones 3 to 7. Lilacs prefer alkaline soils. They tolerate extreme neglect and continue to flower for many years with almost no care. Typically the only thing they need is an occasional pruning to keep them within bounds.

Shipping and planting times are winter and spring months. Please choose from following months: November thru April. But we will make exceptions with limited warranties due to heat during shipping.
And, any tree shipped during normal green and growth months ... which is May through October is going to arrive with brown, burned leaves. They will recover and go green again, but they are going to look dead on arrival.
