Welcome to Sutton Farms!
Victoria Rhubarb
Rheum rhabarbarum
Rhubarb is grown for its edible leaf stalk, or petiole. The thick stalk is long and celery-shaped, and is red, pink, or green. The stalks grow in a rosette and at the end of each is a broad, dark green leaf blade.
Think rhubarb pie when you have this plant growing in your garden. Victoria is an excellent grower that produces big, bright red stalks. Like all rhubarb, it should not be cut until the third year of growth. By the third year, the plant will easily tolerate harvesting. The harvesting period will last about 8 weeks.
