Hollyhocks

Alcea rosea



Hollyhocks make a grand show,often reaching a height of more than 7 feet. Double blossoms(3"-5") grow in long wand-like clusters. Plant up to the end of July or early in August for flowering the next season. Plant in full sun to partial shade. Single and semi-double blossoms on 5ft stalks in shades of rose, pink and white. This hardy annual is often overlooked but offers a classic charm. Reseeds readily.

Origin: Eastern Mediterranean
Growth Habits: Annual in Phoenix, tall spikes of flower reaching 9 feet (2.7 m) for some varieties
Watering Needs: Regular water
Propagation: Seeds in late summer or spring

Hollyhocks... The plants are between 12" and 24" tall when shipped... And shipped Bare Root... Shipping and planting times are winter and spring months. Please choose from following months: November thru April. But we will make exceptions with limited warranties due to heat during shipping.

And, any plant shipped during normal green and growth months ... which is May through October is going to arrive with brown, burned leaves. They will recover and go green again, but they are going to look dead on arrival.
